Meet Better Brands when a simple plug-in gives back.

The project

My role: Co-Designer

Project from uppercase.no

Better Brand is a simple plug-in that makes it easy for companies to allocate part of their revenue to different NGOs.

It works in the interaction of community, e-commerce and social responsibility, creating a network of BETTER values, markets and people.

From a small plug-in, better brands runs a campaign and offers the campaign monitoring systems to see how it is performing.

One of the main challenge during the process of bringing the plug-in to life was to explore, its two targets audiences.

How would we make a front facing plug-in that is not too “techy” and scary, but yet look trust-worthy for big brands to use.

Alongside my then colleague Lucia great tagline: “Better brands, better society, better people”, I developed a series of Illustrations to empower its meaning.

Later on, I explored with Mike a creative Technologist how to play on the star like money coin and how it can grow within the brand but also for the user.

(A little behind the scenes - Have fun ;) )

Better Brand. Better Society. Better People.

In a world where consumers increasingly align their spending with their values, brands that act with purpose don't just attract customers, they build movements. The tone of voice for this concept sits at the intersection of ambition and empathy: confident without being corporate, warm without being soft. It speaks to business leaders who understand that profit and purpose are not opposites, but partners. Every word choice reinforces the idea that a small moment at checkout, the rounding up of a penny, the gifting of spare change, is not a transaction, it's a declaration. The brand voice says: you are building something that matters. It challenges businesses to see themselves not just as sellers, but as stewards of a better world. And it invites everyday people into that story, making them feel that their purchase, however small, is part of something far larger than themselves.

Campaign Monitoring That Closes the Loop

Great giving isn't just about generosity, it's about accountability. The campaign monitoring layer of this platform transforms vague goodwill into measurable impact, giving brands a live, transparent window into where the money goes and what it achieves.

Brands can track donation volumes in real time, see which causes resonate most with their customer base, and use those insights to sharpen future campaigns. For the conscious consumer, this closes the trust gap: no more wondering whether their rounded-up penny actually reached a food bank or reforestation project. Impact dashboards, milestone moments, and cause-specific reporting turn passive giving into an active, shared story, one that brands can amplify across social channels, loyalty programmes, and email journeys.

Monitoring isn't just a back-end feature; it's the proof point that transforms a nice idea into a credible, repeatable commitment.
